The Convoluted Muse

A hearty welcome to Ted Carpenter (and his wife Barabara) to the blogosphere. Ted is a busy fellow, you can read about him here, but has decided to dive into this world of blogging we love. I was at the Libertarian Party’s website tonight looking over a few articles for information. In reading through some of their material I came across this article. The article quotes Mike Huckabee, former Republican Presidential candidate, calling libertarianism, among other things, a “threat.” Of course Huck, the schmuck, wasn’t through denigrating people with different political views than his own. He further averred,  “libertarianism is a soulless type of economic conservatism.”

For those who’ve been following this story a small, yet important, victory has recently been won against the totalitarian legislation known commonly as the RealID Act. In the month of May, a bill passed through Alaska’s state legislature preventing funding for this legislation. In effect, the Real ID Act would create, or more precisely, solidify efforts at shifting us from a representative government to a police state.

My goodness, how time flies! I have been wanting to sit and write out a few posts for the blog for some time now but it always seems too busy. I received a notice to moderate a comment today in my e-mail and realized how long its been since I posted an article. Oh the shame! I’ve been rather neglectful haven’t I?

Actually, its been too long! I have been so busy with school carrying 18 credits until a week or so ago. Things are a little better now that I only have 14 credits, lol. In any case I feel bad for not having kept things up to speed but, as you can imagine, a lot has happened. I will post later on some of the details but, for now, will leave it there. I wish I had more time but I am off to a geology lab so I must run, but please check back in soon as I’ll have more content coming shortly.
