The Convoluted Muse

I recently came across a poem I wrote for my wife a few years ago. It had been a long time since I’d seen this poem and reading it brought back a flood of emotions. You see, my wife and I were lovers from a distance for quite a while. She lived in Wisconsin and I in Florida. This poem was written after we finally were able to come together across so many miles and against the proverbial odds.

I heard the author read this today on NPR. I think it was a taped recording but what a wonderful poem it was. So, I looked for and found it via the internet. Have a look and let me know what you think of it.

Yesterday started off with a bang, literally. My wife and I got into a huge fight first thing in the morning. Needless to say the rest of the day was rather tense. We’re not prone to fighting a lot though it seems we’ve argued more the last couple of months than during the entire 6 years we’ve been together.
