Huck-a-Schmuck

Friday, June 6th, 2008

I was at the Libertarian Party’s website tonight looking over a few articles for information. In reading through some of their material I came across this article. The article quotes Mike Huckabee, former Republican Presidential candidate, calling libertarianism, among other things, a “threat.” Of course Huck, the schmuck, wasn’t through denigrating people with different political views than his own. He further averred,  “libertarianism is a soulless type of economic conservatism.”

Anti-RealID Act Victory!

Friday, June 6th, 2008

For those who’ve been following this story a small, yet important, victory has recently been won against the totalitarian legislation known commonly as the RealID Act. In the month of May, a bill passed through Alaska’s state legislature preventing funding for this legislation. A lot has been made recently about hate crime legislation. We already have a form of such legislation on the books now and officials like Ted Kennedy (D-Mass) and Gordon Smith (R-Ore) aim to add another. All such legislation, whether on the books or not, boils down to one thing; criminalizing human thought. Proponents argue certain crimes are driven by “hate” thus these crimes should be treated differently than other (similar) crimes. To validate their point they offer stories of people who were victimzed, criminally, primarily because of their race, religion, etc. These victims then become the foundation for urgent need in terms of a legal remedy. Unfortunately, these ‘legal remedies’, hate crime legislation, accomplish only one thing; the destruction of personal freedom and liberty.

The Thought Police Are Coming

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Yes folks, the time has come, again. In an Orwellian nightmare come true political leaders, primarily Democrats, are attempting to pass into law bill S.1105. Ted Kennedy has been working for some time to get this piece of legislation passed and it seems now he has the best chance he’s ever had to trample over our civil liberties.
