Anti-RealID Act Victory!

For those who’ve been following this story a small, yet important, victory has recently been won against the totalitarian legislation known commonly as the RealID Act. In the month of May, a bill passed through Alaska’s state legislature preventing funding for this legislation. In effect, the Real ID Act would create, or more precisely, solidify efforts at shifting us from a representative government to a police state.

Bliss

I recently came across a poem I wrote for my wife a few years ago. It had been a long time since I’d seen this poem and reading it brought back a flood of emotions. You see, my wife and I were lovers from a distance for quite a while. She lived in Wisconsin and I in Florida. This poem was written after we finally were able to come together across so many miles and against the proverbial odds.

Student Ego’s: The High Price of Inflation

I never cease to be amazed at the wonderful content one can find via the internet. While its equally true one can find abhorrent content on the world wide web just as easily; I prefer to focus on the former rather than the latter. In that vein, I had a wonderful time this morning surfing the web. During my time surfing I found several great sites which I wasted no time in adding to my linkroll and/or blogroll as appropriate. As you might expect there was one article posted on a blog that really captured my attention. The weblog is titled “The Irascible Professor” and within his weblog is an intriguing article by guest commentator Tina Blue.

Fake Photos: Reuters Offering Biased Reporting?

I was referred to a link today by a friend via an online forum. I cannot offer too much on the bias or non-bias of the particular site but, if their story is true, cannot understand why this has not made headlines in the United States. Then again, I can understand. If this story, assuming its true, were nationally discussed we’d, most likely, discover many mainstream news outlets have been guilty of the same crime. What specifically am I referring to?
